Booking Slot Durations Setup Guide

Explains how to set the booking durations and slot layout players see, by day, time and court.

Written by Arslan Bhatti

Overview

Booking Slot Durations lets you decide which booking lengths players can choose and how those slots appear in the player booking view. You create rules for each sport, and each rule applies to specific days, a time window and selected courts.

This replaces the previous Allowed Booking Durations policy.

Where to Find It

Go to Club Policies → General → Booking → Booking Slot Durations. Rules are grouped by sport (e.g. Padel), so each sport is configured separately.

Rule Settings

Each rule includes the following settings:

  • Days — the days of the week the rule applies to

  • Time — the Start time and End time of the rule

  • Courts — the courts the rule applies to

  • Durations — the booking lengths players can choose (e.g. 60, 90 or 120 minutes)

  • Slot Type — how slots are laid out for players:

    • Fixed — slots run back to back, with no gaps or overlap

    • Dynamic — all possible start-time combinations are shown

  • Avoid Slot Wastage — when enabled, bookings that would leave an unusable gap between reservations are restricted

Creating a Rule

  1. Under the relevant sport, click Add Another.

  2. Select the Days the rule applies to.

  3. Set the Start time and End time.

  4. Select the Courts.

  5. Choose the Durations players can book.

  6. Choose a Slot Type — Fixed or Dynamic.

  7. Set Avoid Slot Wastage to enabled or disabled.

  8. Click Save changes.

To update an existing rule, click the pencil icon next to it. To remove a rule, click the bin icon.

Scenario 1 — Fixed slots (Padel 9, morning)

Players see 60-minute slots running back to back:

8:00–9:00, 9:00–10:00, 10:00–11:00, 11:00–12:00

This works well for busy periods where you want a predictable, structured schedule and no leftover time between bookings.

Scenario 2 — Dynamic slots (Padel 8, afternoon and evening)

Players see 90-minute slots with overlapping start times:

12:00–1:30, 12:30–2:00, 1:00–2:30, 1:30–3:00, and so on

This gives players more choice of start time. Because overlapping slots can leave short gaps between bookings, Avoid Slot Wastage is enabled here to restrict bookings that would leave unusable time on the court.
